Rules To Remember

Goodyear Lodge & Boat House

The lodge and boathouse were built in 1901 which means she is an old girl. She’s had a few face lifts over the years, but still has old bones which means sloping floors and windows and doors that do not shut completely. I have made many recent repairs as did the previous owners to make your stay as comfortable as possible whilst still maintaining the charm and rustic feel of lake living. Please consider the following rules during your stay:

  1. Bugs & Spiders: To keep spiders and bugs from driving you crazy, please turn off the outdoor lights as often as you can. Bugs and spiders love the lights. That goes for the inside lights as well. The fewer lights you have on at night the better.

2. Air Conditioning: The AC System will fail if you run cool & heat at the same time. The air conditioning system will only work when all 4 units are set to cooling or heating. You cannot have one unit on hot and the other on cool, this will break the system and you will be charged. Not all units need to be turned on at the same time, but they all must be either on heat or cool setting. When the AC is on all doors and windows must be closed. If you do not close everything up, it will harm the system and you will be charged. This is a brand-new system! Please call me or Josh with questions.

3. Windows: Do Not Remove the screens from the windows. Some windows do not open due to age and settling. Do not rest anything against the windows in the basement, they are old and fragile.

4. Towels: Please put wet towels on the towel racks provided for in the bedrooms.

5. Lake Toys: Always return the kayaks to the dock when you are not using them. Always keep the oars on the shore when not using them. Always wear a life preserver. Return your life preservers and water shoes to the storage chest by the basement door when finished.

6. Swimming in the Lake: Swim at your own risk. Do not dive off the dock, we do not know the depth of the water. Do not swim or paddle near the dam.

7. BBQ: Clean the grate and drip tray on the BBQ after every use and cover when finished. Please turn off the propane when you are finished. If the BBQs are not cleaned, you will be charged $50 for each BBQ.

8. Theft and Misuse: If something is broken or missing, that means the group before you have misused or stolen that item. Please be respectful, this is a home and not a hotel.

9. Garbage: The garbage bin enclosure is located at the top of the driveway. All garbage (not recycling) must be bagged and placed in upper bins when you check out. The recycling bins are located outside near the front door. Please recycle your plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans only in the bins provided.  Garbage is picked up every Tuesday, however, if the bins are full when you arrive, please let us know and we will remove it.

Check out is 9:00 AM Sharp! Please remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer when you leave. Put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start the cleaning cycle. Please strip the beds and place your sheets and towels in the rope baskets provided in the bedrooms. Do not put dirty laundry in the laundry room. All laundry is taken off premised to be cleaned.
THANK YOU!
